NEW SONG FELLOWSHIP

is a church in Denver, Colorado, led by senior pastor Loren Sandford, in the flow of the worldwide renewal and revival currently being poured out by the Spirit of God. We are part of the Partners in Harvest family of churches out of the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship. Please click the buttons/graphics to learn about us.

BUCKING THE TREND
At New Song we remain committed to deep and genuine worship of the Living God with excellence and without compromise. Those who worship must worship in Spirit and in truth. Take a little time to bless the Lord. Take a little more time to experience Him. But you won't find this a traditional experience. It's a lot more interesting than that!
NOT FORMAL
We're not formal - come as you are and you'll be loved. We are young and old, single and married, well-off and struggling, of mixed races and nationalities, and different educational levels. In fact, in many ways we're probably not like anything you've seen before. We worship in a unique, relaxed contemporary style (a little rock 'n' roll, a little blues, a little jazz, some folk flavor and some influences all our own that have earned our music a dozen CDs and some KRMT Channel 41 TV appearances) while we preach a solidly historic Christian faith, geared to help each of us live and grow day by day with our Lord and the people He's called us to love. We like to think there's something here for everyone, and if there isn't, we're here to help you and others get it started! You might owe it to yourself to give us a try!

A BRIEF HISTORY
Pastor Loren Sandford moved here from North Idaho in March, 1991 to become the executive pastor of the 5,000 member Denver Vineyard. He resigned that position in June, 1992 and began to consider planting a new church in the Denver area. A series of seven evaluative, foundation laying meetings began in August, 1992, designed for a small core group. At the end of the seven weeks it had become apparent that God was, indeed, forming a people and that His blessing was on the work. The name, New Song Fellowship, was chosen and the first formal service of worship was held the first week in October in a school in Lakewood. That same week an empty church facility was located and secured at 69th and Sheridan. The congregation worshiped there until May, 1993 when growth necessitated a move to 650 W. 106th Ave in Northglenn. A year later that building was sold, a search for a new location was instituted, and we moved into a facility at the Pinnacle Shopping Center in mid-November, 1994. Today we are located in a church facility at 8242 Pecos.

We began as an independent congregation, although many of us came out of the Vineyard movement and we will always feel a kinship there. However, it was never our intention to remain permanently unaffiliated, and so, in July, 1996, after careful consideration and lots of prayer, we applied for affiliation with Partners in Harvest, a new association of churches centered in Toronto (the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship) and cherishing revival. Partners in Harvest places a high value on intimacy with God in worship and intercession, outreach in evangelism and mission, and on renewing the body of Christ in the power of the Spirit. Partners in Harvest was a natural home for us. In 1996 the earnest prayers of the core of our congregation were answered when the Spirit of God began to fall on us in revival. We have never been the same. Never more in love with Jesus. Never more filled with passion for Him. Never so filled with the Father's love. Never have we seen more miracles occur. Lives have been dramatically changed at a pace we have never before witnessed. Worship moved from a somewhat reserved contemporary musical event to a wonderful outpouring of freedom, passion and love for Jesus. We will never go back. Partners in Harvest is an international association of churches and ministries sharing that passion and freedom. Together we cry, "More Lord!" and no matter how often we pray it, we mean it with all our hearts.

Since our founding, we have grown, matured, developed, added staff and become a people bonded to one another and to our Lord Jesus Christ. The future holds wonderful things. From the start it was our desire to become a people of mercy and compassion, doing something different to add to the body of Christ in this metro area. We're well on our way. We hope and pray you sense an invitation personally to do something new in the Lord here. Many have already come here looking for a new start, a place to grow, or to heal. Testimonies tell us they've found it. Wepray this will always be the flavor of our fellowship.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
VALUES
WE VALUE
--Culture current and heart felt worship and praise as a first obligation toGod.

--The accurate and consistent teaching of the Scriptures as the basis for all life and practice.

-- Ministries of mercy and compassion for all in need of mercy and compassion. We seek to meet real needs of real people with both resources and program in every area of life.

-- People. We seek to encourage and release people into the ministries for which they were divinely created. We seek to treat every individual with respect, courtesy and consistency. We want to see people grow and develop as individuals. We seek to restore that which is broken, no matter what area of life that might include.

-- Relationship and ministries that encourage relationship. This includes relationships within the church, outside the church and in families.

-- Evangelism by any and all means that are culturally appropriate, sensitive toward people and demonstrably effective.

WE BELIEVE
WE BELIEVE in God the Father, from whom all things come, in Jesus Christ His only begotten Son, our Lord, and in the Holy Spirit, one God in three Persons, indivisible. By the Father we are perfectly loved. By the Son, born of a virgin, fully God and fully man, are we brought to salvation. By the Holy Spirit are we divinely indwelt. God is omniscient, almighty, infinite, yet personal. His very nature is the essence of love. He is "Abba" (Daddy). He is sovereign and active today in fullness of power.

WE BELIEVE that man, as created in God's image, is a fellowship of two, male and female, equal under authority. We are wonderfully and fearfully made, designed for fellowship with the Creator as creatures both fully physical and fully spiritual. By the willful rebellion of our race, each of us is shattered in every good capacity. All of us have sinned. Each of us needs the Savior desperately, and by choosing Him, each one is redeemed.

WE BELIEVE the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God which alone is binding on all the church for all time. It is eternal, living and active, spiritual food for the spiritual man. It is the absolute description of the spiritual law of the universe, the way reality actually works. As such, it is infallible and sufficient for matters of life, faith and practice.

WE BELIEVE salvation to be by the name of Jesus alone. The inevitable consequence of the sin of which all of us partake is death and broken relationship with God both here and in the hereafter. By His substitutionary sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, the God-man, Jesus Christ, who was the propitiation for our sin, took our death on Himself. He died, was buried, descended into Hell (I Peter 3:18-19), and was resurrected in the body on the third day, according the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and now sits in power at the right hand of God the Father. By His death we are forgiven. By His resurrection we are given new life that we might again have fellowship with Him. This salvation begins in the present for the healing of both body and spirit and will be completed in the resurrection at the last day when He returns to judge the living and the dead and to receive His people to Himself.

THE CHURCH is Christ's body, His bride, composed of all those who acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior and who have committed to serve Him in love. It is called by Him to proclaim the gospel, to make disciples, to serve and obey Him in all His Word. It is a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, an organism endowed with power to do His work by virtue of the coming of the Spirit on the whole church on the day of Pentecost.

WE RECOGNIZE two sacraments, baptism and the Lord's Supper, while affirming the sacred character of every other act of the body of Christ.

WE AFFIRM the ancient creeds of Christian faith.
